Born in 1630. Born in Edo. Studied under Takahara Kisshu and Seki Takakazu. He had his pupil Otaka Yoshimasa edit Seki's posthumous manuscript, which was published as "Katsuyo Sanpo." "Araki Sensei's Tea Conversation," written by his pupil Matsunaga Yoshisuke, tells the history of the early days of Japanese mathematics. He passed away on July 15, 1612. He was 79 years old.
