Glass containing countless tiny independent bubbles. Also called multi-bubble glass. With a bulk density (apparent density) of 0.13 to 0.16, it is light, has excellent insulation and durability, is non-flammable and non-breathable, and is easy to process, so it has a wide range of uses in the chemical industry and construction. It is particularly used as a non-flammable insulation material indoors and outdoors, and is also used as a cooling material in food refrigeration and freezer warehouses. Glass powder is mixed with a foaming agent such as calcium carbonate or carbon, placed in a mold, heated to expand, and then cut into products. The higher the bulk density, the higher the mechanical strength, but the lower the insulation.
