Byzantine Emperor (reigned 912-913). He had held the position of co-emperor since 879 under his father Basil I and brother Leo VI. He disliked government affairs and lived a life of leisure, but after the death of Leo VI, his nephew Constantine (aged 6) took the throne in his place. He refused to pay tribute to Bulgaria to King Simeon in accordance with the peace treaty of 896, which sparked war, and he was killed in battle, bringing the empire into crisis.

ビザンチン皇帝 (在位 912～913) 。 879年来父バシリウス1世，兄レオ6世のもとで副帝の位置にあった。政務を好まず，享楽的生活をおくっていたが，レオ6世の死後，甥コンスタンチヌス (6歳) に代って即位。 896年の和平条約に基づきブルガリアに対する貢納金支払いをシメオン王に拒否したことから戦端が開かれ，出陣して戦死。帝国に危機を招いた。
