Armand (ethnic group) - Arman

Japanese: アルマン(民族) - あるまん
Armand (ethnic group) - Arman

...They speak Aromanian (a dialect of Romanian) and live in northern Greece, southern Albania, and Macedonia, but their number is said to be anywhere from tens of thousands to 400,000, making it difficult to pinpoint exactly how many there are. They call themselves Arǎmân or Armân. It is linguistically proven that they shared a common ancestor with the Romanians, but as the Balkan Peninsula became Slavic or Hellenized after the 6th century, they fled to the mountains and became mainly engaged in sheep farming, maintaining their communities centered around clans (falcari) until the early 20th century.
