Tanaka Keiji

Born: December 8, 1885 in Fukuoka
[Died] January 5, 1975. Tokyo human geographer, doctor of science. Graduated from the Tokyo Higher Normal School Research Department. Professor at Tokyo Higher Normal School, Tokyo University of Literature and Science, and Rissho University. Introduced modern European and American geography, and played an active role as a leader in modern geography education in Japan. Served as president of the Association of Japanese Geographers. His major works include Collected Essays on Geography (1923), Our Country (29), Collected Essays on Geography Education (29), Continued Collected Essays on Geography (50), and Third Collected Essays on Geography (65).
