Japanese: 加治木[町] - かじき

An old town on the north shore of Kagoshima Bay in Aira County, Kagoshima Prefecture. Formerly the castle town of the Shimazu clan. The Nippō Main Line and Kyushu Expressway run through the town, and it has become a prominent satellite city of Kagoshima City. The town produces rice, sweet potatoes, flowers, and vegetables, and also engages in forestry and fishing. Its specialties are shochu and Ryumonji ware, a type of Satsuma ware. In March 2010, it merged with Gamō Town and Aira Town in Aira County to become Aira City. ^{Area 47.51 km2} . Population 22,908 (2005).

鹿児島県姶良(あいら)郡，鹿児島湾北岸の旧町。一時島津氏の居城地。日豊本線，九州自動車道が通じ鹿児島市の衛星都市化が顕著。米，サツマイモ，花卉(かき)，野菜などを産し，林業，漁業も営む。焼酎(しょうちゅう)，薩摩焼の一種竜門司(りゅうもんじ)焼を特産。2010年３月姶良郡蒲生町，姶良町と合併して市制施行，姶良市となる。47.51km²。２万2908人（2005）。
