The Albert Houses (a two-storey apartment building of four houses) designed by Henry Roberts (1803-76) for the Great Exhibition in London in 1851, and the Pavilion Esprit Nouveau designed by Le Corbusier for the International Exhibition of Modern Decorative and Industrial Arts in Paris in 1925, are well-known models of apartment buildings as a single unit.
