A wandering miko who lived in a village and did not belong to a shrine. She traveled between the city and the countryside, performed spirit possession, and was assimilated with Buddhism. From the Middle Ages to the early modern period, the lower-ranking wandering miko were called Satomiko, Tabijorō, Shiratumoji, etc., and worked as private prostitutes.
