A philosophical term. A way of thinking that continues the ideological tendencies of Aristotle. It dominated not only philosophy but also individual sciences such as biology, physics, geography, and musicology. It was introduced into Western Europe at the end of the 12th century and fully incorporated into scholastic philosophy by St. Albertus and Thomas Aquinas. In modern times, it was criticized by the natural sciences, but it had a great influence on Leibniz, Hegel, and others.
