(native to Palestine, large pale purple flowers, medium-sized), Allium sphaerocephalum L. (commonly known as the red-crowned crest, native to Western Europe and Iran, reddish purple, small, dwarf), Allium oleophilum Meyer (native to the Caucasus, pink-pink), and Allium karataviense Regel (native to Turkey, white to pale pink-green, large bulbs). They are usually planted in October or November in well-drained, sunny soil, spaced about twice the diameter of the bulbs apart and covered deeply with soil.
