...A powerful clan in Ito, Izu Province. The Kudo clan. At the end of the Heian period, Ito Sukechika was active on the side of the Taira clan. The clan flourished in various places. One notable example was the lord of Obi Domain in Hyuga Province during the Edo period. In the Hyuga Province Map of Fields from 1197 (Kenkyu 8), the late Isamu Fujiwara Emon-no-jo is listed as the land steward of about 750 cho of Usamiya-ryo Kensho, Tomita-sho, Tajima-sho, and Morogata-sho, and is thought to be Kudo Suketsune's surviving son, Ito Suketoki. The succession was passed down from Sukemitsu to Sukemune to Sadasuke to Sukemochi, and in 1335 (Kenmu 2), Sukemochi joined Ashikaga Takauji and was given 300 cho of land in Tonokori, Koyu County, and moved to Hyuga Province, where he held sway until the end of the Muromachi period. ...

…伊豆国伊東の豪族。工藤氏族。平安末期，伊東祐親（すけちか）が平家方として活躍。一族は各地に繁衍。著名なものに江戸時代の日向国飫肥（おび）藩主がある。1197年(建久8)の《日向国図田帳》に宇佐宮領県庄，富田庄，田島庄，諸県庄約750丁の地頭として故勲藤原衛門尉とあるのは工藤祐経の遺子伊東祐時のことと思われる。その後祐光―祐宗―貞祐―祐持と相伝，祐持は1335年(建武2)足利尊氏に属して児湯郡都於郡（とのこおり）300丁の地を与えられ，日向国に下向，同地を拠点として室町末期まで同国内に勢威をはった。…
