...A general term for research that seeks to understand all political societies from a scientific, objective, and theoretical perspective. Comparative politics was established in 1954 when the Committee on Comparative Politics was established in the Social Science Research Council of the United States, Gabriel A. Almond (1911- ) became chairman, and young researchers gathered under him. In traditional political science, the main focus was on Western countries, and comparative political institutions (institutions) were established as a field that described the differences and similarities between the political systems and institutions of the country and those of one's own country from a legal and historical perspective.
