In the early 19th century in America, Unitarianism, which emphasizes the innate goodness of human beings, arose, and Emerson, known as a Transcendentalist, emerged from this ideology, fusing mysticism with the ideas of the developing democratic period. He left the church, which had fallen into formality, and sought a primordial and mystical relationship between humans and the universe, believing that nature is a symbol of the spiritual world and that words are a symbol of nature.
