A limestone plateau in the western Shikoku Mountains, straddling the border between Ehime and Kochi prefectures. It lies at an elevation of 900-1400 meters. It has been designated as part of the Shikoku Karst Prefectural Natural Park. It corresponds to the limestone belt of the Chichibu Mesozoic and Paleozoic strata, and is distributed over an area of 7.4 square kilometers, stretching about 2 kilometers from north to south and 5 kilometers from east to west, with the limestone reaching a thickness of about 20-50 meters. Genjigadaba in the southern part of the karst plateau is an old Karenfeld (stone tower field), and about 100 dolines and ubares are scattered on the northern foot of the mountain, some of which contain water. After the Second World War, pioneer farmers settled here and engaged in dairy farming and highland agriculture. The vertical limestone caves include the 260-meter-deep Ryuo Cave, Nishiterayama Cave, Sasagatoge Cave, etc. At the western foot of the mountain is the 430-meter-long horizontal cave called Rakan Cave.
