Also called Tengaseki. A blue-green or greenish microcline that can be polished to become an ornamental stone. It forms short columns, tables, and blocks and is found in granitic pegmatites. It usually forms various types of twins, including clast twins. The main sources are California, Colorado, and Virginia in the United States, as well as Canada, Brazil, and Russia. In Japan, pale-colored stones have been found in Tadachi, Machida, Minami Kiso, Nagano Prefecture, and Kurobera, Kofu City, Yamanashi Prefecture. The name comes from the Amazon in Brazil, where it was first found.
