Masayoshi Abe

Japanese: 阿部正能 - あべまさよし

1627-1685 A daimyo in the early Edo period.
Born in 1626. The eldest son of Abe Masazumi. When his father died at a young age, he was given 10,000 koku from his grandfather Abe Masatsugu's estate, and in 1640 he became the lord of Otaki Domain in Kazusa (Chiba Prefecture). In 1655, he was given 6,000 koku by his cousin Abe Sadataka, the lord of Musashi Iwatsuki Domain (Saitama Prefecture). He was later adopted by Abe Tadaaki, and in 1668 he became the second generation lord of Musashi Oshi Domain (Saitama Prefecture). He served as a senior councilor. He died on April 13, 1622. He was 59 years old. His original name was Masayoshi.

寛永4年生まれ。阿部正澄の長男。幼時に父が亡くなり,祖父阿部正次の所領から1万石を分与されて,寛永15年上総(かずさ)(千葉県)大多喜藩主となる。慶安4年従弟の武蔵(むさし)岩槻(いわつき)藩(埼玉県)藩主阿部定高より6000石を分与される。のち阿部忠秋の養子となり,寛文11年武蔵忍(おし)藩(埼玉県)藩主阿部家2代となる。老中をつとめた。貞享(じょうきょう)2年4月13日死去。59歳。初名は正令(まさよし)。
