Yasuna Abe

A character from the Kojoruri play "Shinodazuma." A samurai from Abeno, Settsu (Osaka Prefecture). In the Shinoda forest in Izumi (Osaka Prefecture), he rescues a fox that was being chased by Ishikawa Akuemon, the younger brother of the onmyoji (exorcist) Ashiya Doman. He marries a woman who is the incarnation of a fox, and the child born is said to be Abe no Seimei. This story gave birth to the Gidayu play "Ashiya Doman Ouchi Kagami" and the Kabuki dance "Honame".
