Princess Abe

...The 43rd empress of the early Nara period. Reigned 707-715. She was the fourth daughter of Emperor Tenchi, and her mother was the niece of Soga no Kurayamada Ishikawamaro. She was the wife of Prince Kusakabe, the mother of Emperor Mommu, Emperor Gensho, and Princess Kibi, and the half-sister of Emperor Jito. Her given name was Abei. Her Japanese posthumous title was Yamatoneko Amatsumiyo Toyokuni Narihime. In 706 (Keiun 3), Emperor Mommu tried to abdicate due to serious illness, but she refused, and when he died in June of the following year, 707, she ascended to the throne. ...
