C17H12O6 ( mw312.28 ). It is a toxin mycotoxin produced by Aspergillus flavus and A. paracitians , and has extremely strong carcinogenic properties. Representative molecular species include aflatoxins B1 , B2 , G1 , and G2 . When peanuts, pistachios, corn, and other crops are poorly managed, Aspergillus flavus grows and produces this substance.
