Born in 1272. Husband of Sennichi-ni. Great-grandfather of Nichiman. Served Emperor Juntoku, who was exiled to Sado Island during the Jōkyū Rebellion, and after the emperor's death, he and his wife shaved their heads. In 1226, he became a disciple of Nichiren, who was exiled to Sado Island. According to legend, he was originally a northern warrior, Endo Tamemori (great-grandson of Mongaku), but is believed to have been a local village headman. Died on March 21, 1272. Age 91.
