Japanese: 阿仏房 - あぶつぼう

1189-1279 A monk from the Kamakura period.
Born in 1272. Husband of Sennichi-ni. Great-grandfather of Nichiman. Served Emperor Juntoku, who was exiled to Sado Island during the Jōkyū Rebellion, and after the emperor's death, he and his wife shaved their heads. In 1226, he became a disciple of Nichiren, who was exiled to Sado Island. According to legend, he was originally a northern warrior, Endo Tamemori (great-grandson of Mongaku), but is believed to have been a local village headman. Died on March 21, 1272. Age 91. His Buddhist name was Nittoku.

1189－1279　鎌倉時代の僧。
文治(ぶんじ)5年生まれ。千日尼(せんにちに)の夫。日満の曾祖父。承久(じょうきゅう)の乱により佐渡へ流された順徳上皇につかえ,上皇没後妻とともに落髪した。文永8年佐渡に配流された日蓮の弟子となる。伝承ではもと北面の武士遠藤為盛(文覚(もんがく)の曾孫)とされるが,在地の名主とみられる。弘安(こうあん)2年3月21日死去。91歳。法名は日得(にっとく)。
