Also known as the law of the minimum. A law proposed by Liebig in 1843 regarding the relationship between plant growth and inorganic nutrients (fertilizers). In order for a plant to grow healthily, it needs to absorb a variety of inorganic elements in a certain ratio according to the type, but if one of these elements is lacking, the plant's growth will be poor, and even if other nutrients are abundant, the plant's growth will be controlled by the nutrient that is most lacking. Later, German agronomist Wolney (1846-1901) added and corrected this to say that of the factors necessary for plant growth, including water, light, temperature, and air, the growth of the plant is controlled by the factor that is supplied in the smallest proportion.
