Anijima Seto - Anijimaseto

...Southwest of Chichijima is Minamijima, a submerged karst topography. It is home to bare lapiers and large and small dolines formed by the erosion of limestone, making it an important site for academic research. The narrow strait between Chichijima and Anijima (Anijima Seto) is the area with the most developed coral reefs in the Ogasawara Islands, but large colonies of reef-building coral can also be seen in places along the west coast of Anijima and the coastline of Chichijima. Before World War II, there were settlements in Omura and Ogiura on Chichijima, and the remains of farmland such as sugarcane fields can be seen on the gentle slopes of the mountainside at an altitude of 100 to 200 meters, and rice paddies can be seen on the valley floor downstream of the Yase River.
