Adi tribe - Adi

...It is said that inter-tribal warfare and slavery continued until recent times. The main tribes are the Mishmi in the Rohit area, the Adi (formerly Abol) in the Siang area, the Nishi (formerly Dakhla) in the Subansiri area, and the Apatani who live in the plateau basin. The main livelihood of the inhabitants is agriculture, and in the mountainous areas Jhum, or slash-and-burn agriculture, is traditional.
