Abbasiya - Abbasiya

...At that time, the weather was humid, and North Africa was covered with grasslands, lush forests, and a treasure trove of wild animals. Early Paleolithic tools have been found on the 30m and 15m terraces on the banks of the Nile, in Abbasiya near Cairo, and in the Khalija Oasis. Abbeville-type and Acheulean-type hand axes, chipped stone tools (on the 30m terrace), and stone tools from the Middle and Late Acheulean culture (on the 15m terrace) have been discovered. Middle Paleolithic tools are found on the 9m terrace, and are characterized by Levallois-type chipped stone tools and small triangular points.
