Compressed air machine

A machine that uses a supply of compressed air to perform work. It consists of an air compressor, a transport pipe such as a hose or pipe, and a compressed air machine. Although the system has the disadvantage of being much less efficient than an electric motor, it has the advantages of being safe and easy to handle, being light compared to its capacity, and having few breakdowns due to load fluctuations. Therefore, it is widely used in mines where explosive gases are present, chemical plants, tunnels and civil engineering works, mining vehicles, etc. Examples include compressed air engines, compressed air drills, compressed air riveters, impact wrenches, and rock drills.
