Asconoid type - Ascon type

Japanese: アスコン型 - アスコンがた（英語表記）Asconoid type

One of the three basic types of tissue structure (groove system) unique to marine sponges. This is the simplest type, consisting of an erect hollow cluster. It is found in the genus Polytrichum, etc., of the class Calcarea. All sponges show this type in the early stages of development, and then develop into the somewhat more complex Polytrichum type (such as Polytrichum) or the more complex Leucon type.

海綿動物に特有な組織構造 (溝系) の3つの基本型の一つ。最も単純な型で，直立した中空状の集りから成る。石灰海綿綱のカゴアミカイメン属などにみられる。また，すべての海綿が発生の初期にはこの型を示し，やがて，やや複雑なサイコン (シコン) 型 (ケツボカイメン属など) や複雑なロイコン (リューコン) 型を形成していく。
