Cocktail dress

Japanese: カクテルドレス（英語表記）cocktail dress

A type of women's clothing. A dress that appeared in the West in the late 1940s, halfway between an afternoon dress and an evening dress, it belongs to the semi-formal category. There are fewer design restrictions than with a formal evening dress. Cocktail time came about with the popularity of the cocktail, which was invented in the United States around 1806, and cocktail dresses were born as clothing to wear when attending somewhat intimate and private parties with no fixed seating.
