...Several river terraces have developed on the east bank of the Tenryu River, and have long been used for rice paddies, mulberry fields, and orchards, but in recent years, they have been used for greenhouse cultivation of cucumbers, tomatoes, strawberries, and other crops, as well as for pig and cattle farming. The Ajima area was once known as a producer of Japanese umbrellas. Upstream of the Ogawa River is the Yahazu Sabo Dam and Yahazu Park.
