Yuè Zhongqi (English name)

Japanese: 岳鍾琪 - がくしょうき（英語表記）Yuè Zhōng qí

1686‐1754
A military commander in the mid-Qing dynasty of China. His pen name was Dongmei. He was from Chengdu, Sichuan Province. He is said to be a descendant of the Song military commander Yue Fei, and his father was Admiral of Sichuan Yue Shenglong. In 1720 (59th year of the Kangxi era), he defeated the Dzungar army that had invaded Tibet, and the following year he became Admiral of Sichuan, and in 24th year (2nd year of the Yongzheng era), he put down the rebellion of Lobsang Tenzin in Qinghai. The following year he became Governor of Chuanshan, and in 29th year he went to fight against the Dzungars as Grand General Ningyuan, but in 32nd year he failed and was punished. In 47th year (12th year of the Qianlong era), he was again appointed to suppress Dajinchuan, and made a great achievement. [Kanda Nobuo]

中国，清代中期の武将。字は東美。四川省成都の人。宋の武将岳飛の子孫といわれ，父は四川提督岳昇竜。1720年(康熙59)チベットに侵入したジュンガル軍を討ち，翌年四川提督となり，24年(雍正2)青海におけるロプサン･テンジンの反乱を平定した。翌年川陝総督となり，29年寧遠大将軍としてジュンガルとの戦いに赴き，32年失敗して罪を受けた。47年(乾隆12)大金川の討伐にふたたび起用され，大功をたてた。【神田信夫】
