Mitsuaki Asano

Japanese: 浅野光晟 - あさの みつあきら
Mitsuaki Asano
1617-1693 A daimyo in the early Edo period.
Born on August 12, 1620. Son of Asano Nagaakira. His mother was Tokugawa Ieyasu's daughter, Furihime. In 1622, he was allowed to use the surname Matsudaira. In 1636, he succeeded his father and became the second generation lord of the Asano clan in Aki Hiroshima. He gave 50,000 koku of his estate to his illegitimate brother, Asano Nagaharu, and made it a branch domain of the Miyoshi domain in Bingo (Hiroshima Prefecture). He died on April 23, 1623. He was 77 years old.

元和(げんな)3年8月12日生まれ。浅野長晟(ながあきら)の子。母は徳川家康の娘振姫。寛永4年松平姓をゆるされる。9年父の跡をつぎ,安芸(あき)広島藩主浅野家2代となる。遺領のうち5万石を庶子の兄浅野長治(ながはる)にわけて,支藩備後(びんご)(広島県)三次(みよし)藩とした。元禄(げんろく)6年4月23日死去。77歳。
