A free-floating larva of the genus Brachyurus (tentacula). It is found as plankton from June to August. It is 1 to 1.5 mm long, and a finger-like crown of larval tentacles surrounds the cylindrical body in a ring shape under a cap-shaped proto-oral lobe. The anus opens at the rear end of the body and is surrounded by a ciliated ring. After a free-floating life, it descends to the seafloor and undergoes metamorphosis to become an adult.

ホウキムシ類 (触手動物) の浮遊幼生。6～8月にプランクトンとして見出される。長さ1～1.5mmで，笠のような形の口前葉の下に指状の幼生触手冠が円筒状の体部を環状に取巻く。肛門は体の後端に開き，繊毛環に囲まれる。浮遊生活ののち，海底に降り変態して成体になる。
