Achilles (insect) - Achilles

... Their main habitat is the vast tropical rainforests that spread throughout the Amazon River system, but some, such as the pale blue or pearly bright Morpho sulkowskyi , are found in the Andes at altitudes of 2,000 to 3,000 meters, living in bright grasslands mixed with shrubs. Even within the same habitat, the flying height varies depending on the species; for example, near Leticia in Colombia, species such as Morpho achilles and Morpho menelaus fly in sunny areas between the trees at 1 to 2 meters above the ground, while the small species Morpho adonis flies above the high treetops and is slow to come down. There are various ways of flying; M. patroclus and M. deidamia fly quite fast, while M. rhodopteron and M. adonis fly slowly and unsteadily at high altitudes, like blue silvu.
