Akamido

...The principal image is the Dainichi Nyorai of the Womb Realm, and it is said that the Dainichi Nyorai of the Kongo Realm, handed down from ancestors, is placed inside the womb. The hall and tower, modeled after the one at Mt. Koya, is painted red, so it is called the Akamidou, and is also called Dainichido or Horiuchi Daimidou. Ban'a's nephew, Taiji, took the name Shoa, and built four temples on the northeast and west sides of the temple grounds outside the precincts.
