...The walking legs are strong, and the tips of the phalanges do not have claws like those found in other crabs. They are widely distributed in the Pacific and Indian Oceans, and there are many closely related species, such as the honeycomb-like T. areolata (illustration), the red-spotted T. rufopunctata (T. rufopunctata), and the uniformly black-brown T. digitalis . All of these are found only between the branches of living dendritic corals.
