A type of cocktail. Irish whiskey, sugar, and hot coffee are added to a warmed champagne or wine glass, lightly stirred, and whipped cream is floated on top. A long drink. It was invented in 1942 by Joe Sheridan, a chef at the cocktail lounge at Shannon Airport in Ireland. It is one of the most well-known hot cocktails.
