...T. Jansson of Finland created a mysterious world with Moomin as the main character. Among other countries, we cannot overlook J. Spyri's Heidi (Girl of the Alps) (1881) and J.R. Canada has LM Montgomery's Anne of Green Gables (1908), but its forte is in the animal stories pioneered by ET Seton and GD Roberts from the end of the 19th century, and this tradition lives on in F. Mowat's My Pet Owl (1961) and S. Bunford's The Incredible Journey (1977).
