Connaught

…The area is about 17,000 km2, and the population is 430,726 (1986). The name Connacht is Irish, and in English it is called Connaught. It is located on the west side of the River Shannon, which flows southwest in the center of the island of Ireland, and consists of the five counties of Galway, Mayo, Sligo, Roscommon, and Leitrim.
