Wladysław III Warneńczyk

…Jogaila handed over the Grand Dukedom of Lithuania to his cousin Vytautas, but the personal union between the two countries was restored under Kazimierz IV Jagiellończyk and became permanent under Alexander. The Jagiellonian expansion into Central Europe began under Władysław III Warneńczyk, who became King of Hungary, but was temporarily thwarted when he was killed in the Battle of Varna against the Ottoman Turks. Later, Casimir IV's eldest son, Bładysław, became king of Bohemia and then Hungary (called Vladislav II in Bohemia and Ulászló II in Hungary) and came to compete with the Habsburgs for supremacy, but lost the Bohemian-Hungarian throne when his son Ludwik (Ludvík I of Bohemia) was killed in the Battle of Mohács against the Ottoman Turks.
