universal language

Japanese: universal language(英語表記)universallanguage
universal language

...Rather than being a special means of communication like cryptography, it was a kind of cultural reform that was deeply connected to methods of thought and the pursuit of truth, and its creation began in earnest in 17th century Europe. The background to the attention given to artificial languages during this period was (1) the need for a "universal language" to replace Latin, which could no longer survive as a common language due to conflicts between countries over politics and religion, and (2) the autistic state of European culture in general, which led to calls for the establishment of a logical and precise "philosophical language" that could contribute to the development of philosophy and science, instead of natural languages, which could not completely eliminate ambiguity and illogicality.
[history]
In 1629, Descartes, Mersenne and others, who aimed to innovate and revitalize knowledge through international academic exchange, criticized existing languages, in which the connections between symbols, sounds and meanings were extremely arbitrary, and proposed the creation of a philosophical language that could express concepts as precisely as numbers.
