Transport and General Workers' Union

...In the UK, the National Insurance Act of 1911 established health insurance and unemployment insurance, stabilizing the lives of low-income workers, and the rapid increase in the number of semi-skilled and unskilled workers during World War I improved conditions for unionization, leading to a dramatic expansion. Currently, the Transport and General Workers' Union (established in 1922) has about 2 million members, and the General and Municipal Workers' Union (established in 1924) has about 1 million members, making them the first and third largest unions in the country, respectively. In the US, the International Brotherhood of Teamsters, Chauffeurs, Warehousemen and Helpers of America (established in 1899) organizes truck and taxi drivers, as well as the transport and commercial sectors and other related fields.
