…In poetry, Sebastiano Satta (1867-1914), who belonged to the Carducci school, sang the folk sentiment of the area around Nuoro, the same hometown as Deledda. However, the annexation to the Kingdom of Italy also gave rise to a movement demanding autonomy for Sardinia, and in 1920 Emilio Lussu (1890-1975) founded the Sardinian Action Party. Lussu was an anti-fascist fighter, and in addition to his political activities he also engaged in literary activities, such as "A Year in the Plateau" (1938). …
