...In the study of the style of fairy tales, the Danish Axel Olrik first proposed the law of repetition, the priority of the front in the beginning and the back in the development, the sacred number three, the unity of the scene, and the law of introduction and stillness (1909). Later, after World War II, the Swiss Max Lüthi came to propose the one-dimensionality, flatness, abstract style, purification and universality, and the possibility of isolation and universal connection in fairy tales (1949). Lüthi's theory confirmed that fairy tales are literary works with an abstract style, different from literature that is written with the expectation of being read.

…昔話の様式的研究としては，まずデンマークのオールリクAxel Olrikによって，〈くり返しの法則〉〈発端における最前部優先と展開における最後部優先〉〈三の聖数〉〈場面の統一性〉〈導入と静止の法則〉が唱えられた(1909)。その後，第2次大戦を経て，スイスのリュティMax Lüthiが，昔話の〈一次元性〉〈平面性〉〈抽象的様式〉〈純化と含世界性〉〈孤立性と普遍的結合の可能性〉を唱えるにいたった(1949)。リュティ理論によって昔話は，読まれることを予期して書かれる文学とは異種の，抽象的様式をもった文芸であることが確認された。…
