…They are found mainly in Western Asia, Central Asia, Pakistan, parts of Egypt, and southeastern Europe. The word "ter" is Arabic, and is called "tepe" in Iran and Afghanistan, "hüyük" in the Anatolian Plateau, "maghoula" in northern Greece, and "ghundai" in Pakistan. "tepe" is also used in eastern Turkey and northern Iraq.
