Model Parliament

In the later years of his father, King Henry III, he participated in the struggle for national reform among the nobles, and after ascending to the throne, he used his experience to convene a parliament (later called the Model Parliament) consisting of high-ranking clergy, influential nobles, and representatives of the counties and cities in 1295, and obtained support for taxation. He also enacted laws to regulate the land tenure system, and established the laws that had existed since the Middle Ages, laying the foundation for later British national politics. …
