...In most cases, the difference between males and females is not clear outside of the breeding season. In terms of breeding habits, males and females generally pair up, guard the eggs they lay, and take care of the hatched fry, but the mouth breeder group, in which the parents guard the eggs in their mouths, also belongs to this family. It is not necessarily difficult to observe this breeding behavior in captivity, although it depends on the species.
