A heating system found in the Korean peninsula and northeastern China. A horizontal pit is made under the floor, stones are placed on top of it, soil is applied, and then oil paper is lined to create a chimney, and a fire is lit from one side of the pit to heat the room. Smoke escapes from the chimney on the other side of the pit. In northeastern China, it is called a "kan" or "kan" floor. It is usually efficient as it uses waste heat from cooking, but is not suitable for humid places such as Japan. → Related topics Heating | Floor heating Source : Heibonsha Encyclopedia About MyPedia Information |
