At the same time, musical works of Jewish origin were added to the Western musical heritage (such as M. Bruch's Kol Nidrei and Bloch's Hebrew Rhapsody Shelomo). Ashkenazim Jews in Eastern Europe, especially in Poland and Ukraine, developed Jewish mysticism (Hassidism) in the mid-18th century, and along with it, they created the rhythmic folk religious hymn Niggun and its dance, which was an improvised vowel singing style rich in Slavic nuances. They also brought into bloom the world of folk songs in Yiddish, a hybrid language of German and Hebrew (such as Donna Donna).
