Bronze artefacts found in the area around Hohhot (formerly Suiyuan Province) in the south-central part of the Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region of China, and in the vast desert grasslands of the Ordos region, are also known as Suiyuan Bronze Artifacts. They include various small tools, horse tack, leather fittings, etc., and are characterized by animal designs of horses, deer, goats, etc. They parallel the Tagar culture of Minusinsk in Siberia during China's Warring States period (Spring and Autumn Period). They are thought to have been used by nomadic peoples (probably the Xiongnu) between 700 BC and 200 AD. Source : Heibonsha Encyclopedia About MyPedia Information |
