…This is a book on European anatomy that was translated into Manchu by French Jesuit D. Parennin (Chinese name: Baduoming) at the imperial command in the latter years of the Kangxi Emperor of the Qing Dynasty (1720, 59th year of the Kangxi era). It is based on the book by French anatomist P. Dionis and incorporates illustrations from the anatomical book by Danish anatomist Thomas Bartholin.
