parousia

…Christian belief that Jesus has left the world, but will come again to perform the “final judgment” and complete the “Kingdom of God.” The original Greek word parousia means “coming, presence,” and there is no distinction between the first and second comings. This comes from the understanding of salvation in Isaiah 7:14, which gives the name of the Messiah as “Immanuel” (meaning “God with us”).
